Fugitive is excited to announce our collaboration with Rapscallion in beautiful, downtown Lawrence. Situated in a former mill building, this newest addition to the Rapscallion family of brew pubs offers a barroom, a staged performance space, and in good weather, a generous outdoor seating area. In addition to Rapscallion’s crafted beers, there will be handmade pizzas, sandwiches, salads, and more. Check back often as we’ll be adding dates regularly.

THURSDAY, JUNE 19

Founded in 1984 by José Manuel Cachimuel and Rosa Elena Amaguaña, Yarina continues to lead the way in the world of Ecuadorian music. Their songs of love, community, and social justice feature a variety of traditional Andean instruments, including the bandolín and charango (small box lutes), rondador / sampoña / pakllas (a variety of South American reed pipes), and kena (end-blown flute). Along with guitar, violin, bass, drums, and vocals, Yarina’s music unapologetically radiates into the world as a wash of sonic sunshine. They have received countless awards and accolades for their work and have performed at major festivals in front tens of thousands of people across the US and Ecuador.

Felipe and Patrick have collaborated for years to bring a wide range of exciting events to the local scene, but their shared passion for karaoke takes things to a whole other level — making their karaoke nights truly unmissable. THURSDAY, JUNE 26

One of only 30 artists featured in the book “Masters of the Harmonica,” Cheryl Arena brings the sound of authentic American blues music to audiences in the US and Europe. She plays everything from the urban electric blues of Chicago to the soulful Delta sounds of the Deep South — and everything in between. She has shared the stage with such luminaries as James Cotton, Junior Wells, Charlie Musselwhite, Pinetop Perkins, Luther “Guitar Junior” Johnson, Lazy Lester, R.L. Burnside, among many others.

Mike DiBari — Jazz/Blues guitarist Mike DiBari is inspired by B.B. King and Freddie King, among others. He performs with many local and national blues and R&B artists including Mud Morganfield (Son of Muddy Waters) and Boston's own Toni Lynn Washington.


Wednesday, JULy 2

A Boston area singer/guitarist, Chuck performs solo and with his band, The Butler Frogs and has opened for touring bands America, The Wallflowers, and The Gin Blossoms. He was also a founding member of Northern Point (2005–2010), an acoustic trio from the NY/NJ area that released three albums (NovemberNorthern Point: Live at St. James' Gate, and After The Frost). In 2016, Chuck founded and hosted the award-winning podcast “Above The Basement — Boston Music and Conversation” which won a 2020 Boston Music Award for Podcast/Radio Show of the Year. After 200 episodes, Chuck shuttered the podcast and set out on his solo musical endeavor. He currently performs in the New England area and is always on the lookout for the lost songs that have influenced him over the years.

Matt Borrello is a traveling singer and guitar player with a repertoire of traditional folk, classic rock, and contemporary original songs. He performs his own songs and also offers energetic interpretations of classic folk, rock, and blues from the 50s, 60s, and 70s. He’s equally comfortable playing on coffeehouse stages, a rowdy bar, an intimate house concert, or an outdoor festival. John “Fitz” Fitzsimmons sings classic pub songs, timeless Celtic melodies, irreverent sing-a-longs, and some of the best, most eclectic, and sometimes just-plain-old-fun music and vocal harmonies you’ll ever hear. Fitz and his music partner of many years, harmonica wizard Hatrack Gallagher, are an award-winning staple of the New England folk music scene and between them have a repertoire of hundreds of traditional folk, country blues, classic rock, Celtic, and original songs that make every show fun and homey. Vocalist Lori Zuroff performs with various rock, blues, R&B, and jazz bands in the Boston area. She has performed at Johnny D's, The Burren, The Mad Monkfish, and other venues from Boston to Worcester to Cape Cod and beyond. Lori headlines a jazz trio, she sings with the five-piece Lola Sweet Band, and sings in a Steely Dan cover band, The Nightflies. And she’s co-hosted popular blues jams in Acton and Maynard.

Charlie Berman is a guitarist, composer, and multimedia artist working in both Boston and New Orleans. He has performed with many artists including the late Mac Rebennack (Dr. John), Bobby Rush, James Andrews, and Rockin' Dopsie Jr. He is also the author of “Jam Theory,” an interactive Virtual Reality music education app for the Oculus Quest headset.

Known among guitar circles for their work at The Music Emporium, Andy Cambria and Lindsay Straw also share a love for pithy, complex songs of the folk, bluegrass and Celtic persuasion. Blending harmony vocals and double guitars, Irish bouzouki and clawhammer banjo, and throwing in some old-time tunes for good measure, the duo loves tackling songs both traditional and contemporary — but there has to be a good story. Their music is sure to appeal to fans of folk duos like Gillian Welch & David Rawlings and the Murphy Beds.

Erin Harpe Country Blues Duo has been called “today’s country blues at its very best” by America’s oldest blues periodical Living Blues Magazine, who crowned Erin “one of the finest fingerpicking acoustic blues singers in the land!” A passionate purveyor of the vintage country blues and roots music she was brought up on, Erin has quickly become considered one of the premier acoustic blues pickers in the world today. Her international fanbase got a big boost recently, since she started posting her Fingerstyle Friday video series, the most popular of which surpassed 264K views in two months on Facebook. The duo features Erin on acoustic guitars, vocals, kazoo, and foot percussion, with her husband, Jim Countryman, on ukulele bass and backing vocals. The pair’s foot-stomping back-porch blues transports the audience to the delta, with catchy and danceable vintage classics. The act has been a hit everywhere from intimate venues to blues festivals, from the US to the UK and EU, to rum bars in Jamaica!
