  • Orange Door Kitchen 251 Arlington Street Acton, MA 01720 USA (map)

Myanna, one of the hottest saxophonists around, plays music that mixes jazz improvisation with funky rhythms, expressive playing, and catchy tunes. Featuring her soulful sounds, versatility, and unique arrangements, she performs regularly in clubs and concert halls with her own group, with the Love Dogs, and as a featured artist in a number of highly-regarded bands. She has won awards for Best Jazz Artist several times from both the Boston Music Awards and The Boston Phoenix readers poll. Myanna has recorded three or her own CDs, is featured on multiple recordings with The Love Dogs and as a side player on many other recordings.

Performing with Myanna is one of the finest jazz organists around, Ken Clark. He was voted “Winner of New England Blues Society, Keyboardist of the the Year” four times between 2006 and 2015. Ken's technical ability joined with his natural feel for funk and soul make each performance a night to remember.

Drummer/Vocalist Eddie Scheer has been a pillar of the Boston Blues/R&B scene for more than 20 years. As the leader of his award-winning band, The Love Dogs, he’s toured the U.S. and Europe and recorded four critically acclaimed CDs. He’s played and/or recorded with virtually every top-level musician in area and has hosted his “Tuesday Night Allstars” series in Brighton for almost a decade. His encyclopedic repertoire is surpassed only by his big smile and love of entertaining.

This is the fourth of our seven Wednesday night fall series "Fugitive at the Door" at Orange Door Kitchen in West Acton where we present “listening” music — one to a few performers playing jazz, folk, bluegrass, blues, classical, world music — and more. Our first three events were sold out.

Orange Door owners Meredith and Chris Powell have created a lovely, inviting, and intimate setting in the space that was formerly Savory Lane and The Local Table. It is totally transformed. It feels like a comfy living room/kitchen. And they are very welcoming hosts.

They’ll will be serving a few small plates each evening and providing a full bar including some excellent wine offerings.

Orange Door is a no cash, no tipping venue. Please bring a credit/debit card. Gratuities are included in the menu price.

Later Event: November 16
