Headliner Myq Kaplan
Our headliner has been on all the "shows." He's got his own comedy specials. But, most important, he's just plain funny. Formerly a Boston boy, now a proud New Yorker, our headliner, Myq Kaplan has performed on the Tonight Show, Conan, the Late Show with David Letterman, Late Night with Seth Meyers, the Late Late Show with James Corden, in his own half-hour Comedy Central Presents special, and in his own one-hour special on Netflix and now Amazon, “Small, Dork, and Handsome.” He has been a finalist on Last Comic Standing and recently appeared on America’s Got Talent. His debut album “Vegan Mind Meld” was one of iTunes’ top 10 comedy albums of the year, and his most recent album "No Kidding" is one of the top billion albums of eternity.
Featuring Tooky Kavanaugh
With razor sharp wit and a charm once described as “ineffable,” Tooky (rhymes with cookie) Kavanagh speaks her mind with honesty, charisma, and edge. Tooky has performed in New York, Denver, and all over New England. Her standup credits include Laugh Boston, Nick’s Comedy Stop, December 2018 Comic in Residence at The Comedy Studio, The Rockwell Theater, The 2017 Women In Comedy Festival, Thunderfest 2017, The 2017 Boston Comedy Festival, Boston Comedy Chicks, The 2017 Boston Comedy Arts Festival, The Producer’s Club, and Comic Sit-In at The Riot Theater. And she was selected to audition for the prestigious Montreal Just For Laughs Festival. She can be seen regularly at venues such as The Comedy Studio, ImprovBoston, and Laugh Boston. (Also, she’s the one who described her own charm as “ineffable,” but it’s still true!)
Host Mike Dorval
After a mere three months of performing, Mike won the NH Comedy Festival, defeating some of New England’s most established comics and he quickly climbed the comedic ranks to become one of the youngest headliners in Boston history. He’s been praised by the Boston Globe as “One of Boston’s Best.” Mike has been featured on Comedy Central’s Laugh Riots, starred in numerous TV commercials, and toured overseas for the USO. He has served as Comic In Residence at The Comedy Studio and is a favorite of the Boston Comedy Festival. He’s written and performed several one man shows which have had runs at the Charles Playhouse and Wellfleet Harbor Actors Theater.
Twenty-Nine offers simple, authentic rustic Mediterranean fare. They seek to redefine the suburban restaurant experience into one that is relaxed, cozy, and intimate — a place folks go to enjoy a great meal, great drink, and great company. They're fussy about simplicity — rustic fare that is reminiscent of the Western Mediterranean’s comfort food classics — bringing healthful, fresh, and vibrant flavors to your table. They draw inspiration from the coastal regions of Italy, France, Spain, and Greece, with just a touch of Morocco. Fugitive’s events take place in the ample second floor dining room which sports a big, beautiful bar, several comfy banquettes, as well as small tables and high-tops.
